A Charmed Life

being kind

blog kindnessWhen I was at school I never knew bullying, I guess it helps I never knew the internet or smart phones either. When I hear the news these days I feel so grateful I grew up in a different time, it feels like I lived in a protected innocent bubble which protected me from the nastiness that is on the increase today. The escalating amount of attempted and actual suicides in young people over bullying breaks my heart and it concerns me that people seem to have forgotten or are not being taught the importance of being kind.

Ellen (DeGeneres) ends her show every day saying ‘be kind to one another.’ It is such a simple yet immensely powerful statement but if we take it to heart, do we really live like that? As I am learning to live more in the moment I am trying to continually be aware of my thoughts and my actions. This idea of a legacy runs in my head all the time, I would hope that when I leave this earth I would be known for being kind and it is not just for me. I would hope that you too feel the same way; that as you go about your day you are being kind with your heart, being kind with your words and being kind with your intentions.

  1. Personally, I think that the main reason you didn’t get bullied is because you went to a private school and you grew up in a small town.

  2. You are absolutely right, simple but soooo powerful! Xx
